Milford Little League College Scholarship
Overview:
Milford Little League has developed a scholarship program in which it will award either one (1) $1000 scholarship or two (2) $500 scholarships to deserving student(s) that have graduated from the Milford Little League program. Scholarship(s) will be awarded to student(s) who will be entering college in the fall of 2023. The scholarship(s) are to be awarded for use in the first year of college.
Objective:
To financially assist deserving young Milford men and women in furthering their college education and to encourage former Milford Little League players to strive for higher scholastic and athletic ideals by acknowledging their efforts and in honoring their accomplishments.

Eligibility:
All candidates must be:

Residents of Milford, CT and graduated from an accredited high school or completed home school program portfolio.

Provisionally accepted into an undergraduate degree program as a full time student at an accredited college.

Graduated from Milford Little League as baseball or softball division player.

Proven academic commitment along with commendable character that exemplifies effort, determination and persistence in attaining the goal of higher education as well as proven sportsmanship and overall positive attitude.

​Entry Requirements:
The following is required of each applicant:

Completion of Milford Little League scholarship application.

A letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach or a non-related adult.

A cumulative weighed Grade Point Average of 3.0 or better (B or better).

A copy of the applicant’s high school transcript.

A one-page essay describing how the candidate’s experience in Milford Little League has influenced their decision to pursue higher education.
Awards:
The scholarship consists of a one-time $500 or $1000 award, which must be used to pay for the student’s college expenses.
Deadline:
All applications must be submitted on or before
March 15, 2023.
Judging:
The Milford Little League Scholarship Committee is the sole authority in the granting of this scholarship. The applicants are selected on scholastic achievement, recommendations and favorable completion of all requirements as noted above. Selections will be considered final and will be made in April of 2023.
